Access Control systems

In physical security, the term access control refers to the practice of restricting entrance to a property, a building, or a room to authorized persons. Physical access control can be achieved by a human (a guard, bouncer, or receptionist), through mechanical means such as locks and keys, or through technological means such as a card access system.

Protect your assets:

Access control systems provide the essential services of identification and authentication (I&A), authorization and accountability where:

  • Identification and authentication determine who can log on to a system, and the association of users with the software subjects that they able to control as a result of logging in;
  • Authorization determines what a subject can do
  • Accountability identifies what a subject (or all subjects associated with a user) did.

Access control is available in many formats and varies for every application. In its most basic form, a standard key is an access control system. This leads us to the decision we have to make in terms of:

  • Level of security.
  • How many points (doors) are to be controlled.
  • How many persons will be using the system?
  • Times for which access is granted.
  • Levels of access for the users.
  • Mode of access i.e. biometric, card, or code

High Tech!

As technology is moving at fast rate with new systems coming up and the current being outdated tomorrow, it would be in line to stay ahead as it is security is not a light matter. Due to this we offer bio-metric access control.

This is a fairly new technology that measure and analyze biological data i.e. human body characteristics, such as fingerprints, eye retinas and irises, voice patterns, facial patterns and hand measurements, for authentication purposes. It also can double as a time and attendance for your employees. This helps in managing the flow of your staff as well as granting access to the appropriate people.

This system then report’s to a database that can be printed or reviewed later in case of breach in security. The biometric reader facilitates the use of a vast range of access card types. The card is then programmed to function as an ID e.g. for visitors or for the staff.
